Story

During the Christmas season of 1952, aspiring photographer Therese Belivet is working in Frankenberg's department store in Manhattan. She meets a glamorous woman. When Carol departs she leaves her gloves on the counter. Therese mails them to her using Frankenberg's sales slip with Carol's name and address. Carol invites Therese to her home in New Jersey with the objective to seduce Therese. While her husband Harge is trying to incriminate her with her sexuality, trying to get the custody of their child, Carol is following her heart to seduce Therese. Excepting the circumstances and admitting her preferences, she gives in and she tells Harge that he can have custody of Rindy but insists on regular visitation. Finally Carol and Therese meet in the Ritz Tower Hotel. Carol reveals her new life and that she has taken an apartment on Madison Avenue, asking Therese to join her. Therese declines Carol's invitation to live with her. Just that the inevitable can’t be escaped.
